The two forms are in excellent condition. These, I obtained 1990 or 91 and sparingly used the Hex form for triangulating. The Pentagonal form has been used for the 5 piece rods and another 7 footer. Reading in some blogs, there were comments alluding to these as roughing forms, but in fact these are a fairly straight tapered system of channels that without doubt can be used for roughing but more so for actual rod building. these work fine even with dimensions out of the realm of straight taper. Marking and sliding each spline to the designated mark is easier than one may think. Set up is the time consuming aspect but if recorded and archived, one can easily repeat a rod. WELL, ALMOST.

Each of the forms have the original chrome plating, intact. Over the years, and where these may have been prior to my ascertaining,  they have worn remarkably well.

Anyway, I am placing the HEX form up for sale to those who may have a real interest in the historic significance and or constructing a rod.

The Hexagonal form is 25 lbs. with a dimension of 3 1/2″ x 41″. Has 4 tapered gooves with the tip top at .028 to .063, followed by .075 to .110, .118 to .156 and 4th groove at .170 to .204.

Not much in the way of overlapping for the splines, so maybe, this could have been meant for roughing, primarily. But I think a rod can easily be constructed with careful recording.

The Pentagonal form, 35 lbs. with dimensions of 5″ x 41″. As you can see in the photos, 4 channels with each channel having the mirrored angle to reach the 72º. This is a beautiful form, even as a decorative piece in the shop. I do not have a depth angle appropriate to get the taper in thousands as with the Hex form. Suffice it to say, there is plenty of overlap between the grooves to match the dimension during planning. I had constructed a 7 foot rod using Payne 98 modified taper.

$500.00 for the hex form. THE PENTAGONAL FORM IS NOT FOR SALE!

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact.

The Pentagonal form is not available until the end of January 2019
